Now Holding Auditions for Davis Community Chorale!
Did you sing in a choir when you were younger? Looking for community connection and great music? Consider auditioning for the Davis Chorale!
We are a non-profit community choir and we rehearse on Monday nights in Davis. We believe in the power of singing to connect people, to bring joy and beauty into the world and to lift our spirits.
We begin rehearsals on September 9 (the Monday after Labor Day), and will be preparing for our annual holiday concert.
This year, we will perform an eclectic mix of holiday songs: from early American carols by William Billings to an under-performed Magnificat by Isabella Leonadra to Ubi Caritas by Duruflé to contemporary settings of old English Christmas texts by Lloyd Pfautsch to music celebrating Chanukah. There is something for everyone on this program! We will have a small instrumental ensemble with us: flute, oboe, cello, percussion and piano.
In the Spring of 2025, we will be collaborating with a few local organizations.
In February, we will combine with Mariachi Puente (local mariachi youth organization) for an afternoon of mariachi and other music celebrating Hispanic culture.
In April, we will join with the Camelia Symphony, in Sacramento, to perform Bruckner’s Te Deum under the baton of Christian Baldini.
In June, we join with the Davis Youth Choir for an end of year concert.
